Maureen went to a meeting at school. If you know her, ask her about it. Anywho, this was the first time that I was alone with the boys for an entire day. Our day was planned out. We were going to go to Joey's gym and head over to the fountain after that for some running around. I say it was planned because things didn't exactly happen that way.
As we were preparing to leave to go to the gym, John threw a hissy fit and wouldn't budge. I gave him two warnings before I took off his shoes and put him in his crib. He fell asleep but woke up when he had to take care of business. After that, he seemed ready to go, so I decided to head out to Target to get some sippy cups. Since it was close to lunch, I decided to go to Daphne's prior to going to Target. I was so proud of John. He ate his entire kid's gyro meal and he was patient as I gave Nicholas his bottle. As a reward, I got him a special toy at Target, The Little People Airplane.
When we got home, John was ready for a nap and Nick and I hung out on our bed. I read him a couple of books and gave him a bottle. Sure enough, he went out like a light. I was able to watch the end of GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra before both of them woke up and I had to watch Make Way for Noddy. Not that I mind watching MWFN, but once in a while, I do like to watch something where the main characters don't sing snappy little songs about some problem.
Since John was being so good, I decided to give him dinner in bed. He had yogurt and hot dogs. I thought I was doing a good thing by giving him a Hebrew National hot dog, but when I told Maureen, she said, "It's good he didn't choke. You know how they say that small kids choke on hot dogs." No, actually, I had never heard that. We should just be thankful that I didn't give him peanut butter. If it were up to me, I would give him some, but Dr. K has said that we cannot give him anything with nuts until he can tell us that his throat is swelling up if he's allergic to it.
Eventually, Maureen came home and John was so happy to see her. He just lit up when she walked into the room. Oh well, I guess he'll always be a mama's boy.
