John Gets a Haircut

As many of you know, our John hates to have his hair cut. We think it's the noise of the clippers that freaks him out, but he just hates it. He's fine as we drive up to the Yellow Balloon. As soon as we step inside, he starts to freak out and scream like there is no tomorrow. Yesterday was no different, except that he had a new hair cutter, Maiza.
It started out rather poorly. Our John was as squirly as always and howling like a banshee; however, as time went on, the shrieks stopped. How did Maiza work that miracle? She brought him an old Fisher Price radio/tv toy that played music and she brought out a birthday cake. Soon enough, he was singing and having a grand old time. It wasn't too drastic a cut since his hair was still growing in from his buzz in Decemeber, but he got rid of his little Jewish boy curls that made Maureen call him Effraim at times.

To top things off, we decided he was finally old enough to have a lollypop and boy did he like that. Afterward, we walked across the street to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for some chocolate milk. We asked if he liked gettin his hair cut and he said, "Yes!" Methink that he likes the candy and chocolate milk.
